Fatal Shooting at Coleman RV Park Leaves One Dead

 

COLEMAN, TX — Tragedy struck the Coleman RV Park at 1404 US 84 in Coleman, resulting in the untimely death of a 42-year-old man. The incident unfolded on Friday, September 22nd, around 7 p.m., when Coleman police received a report of gunshots in the area. Upon their prompt arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of a man who had been shot.

The assailant had fled the scene long before law enforcement arrived, but the authorities swiftly identified the suspect and managed to apprehend him without incident. Police confirmed that the suspect surrendered peacefully.

The victim, who tragically lost his life in the shooting, has been identified as James Slayton, a 42-year-old resident of Coleman. The alleged perpetrator responsible for the murder is Seth Savage Slayton, a 30-year-old hailing from Ballinger. Seth Slayton has since been placed under arrest and is facing charges of murder.

In the ongoing investigation into this tragic event, the Texas Rangers will be collaborating with local law enforcement agencies.
