SAN ANGELO – A Tom Green County grand jury indicted 34-year-old Priscilla Marie Rodriguez for Hindering the Apprehension or Prosecution of a Known Felon after getting in the way of an arrest back in June.
According to court documents, on June 21, 2023, a San Angelo Police Officer initiated a traffic stop at the 3900 block of South Bryant. A pursuit ensued but not before officers were able to identify the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle as Roberto Mejia.
The vehicle pursuit ended in the area of the 300 block of West Avenue Q where officers witnessed Rodriguez run from across the street while they were establishing a perimeter in an attempt to take Mejia into custody.
Rodriguez made contact with an officer on the east side of West Avenue Q and portrayed herself as the driver of the vehicle that was involved in the pursuit.
According to the report, Rodriguez was aware that Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle is a felony, and that Mejia was in the act of committing a felony. Rodriguez continued to stand in front of the officer in order to divert his attention in an intentional attempt to provide Mejia with a means of avoiding arrest. Due to Rodriguez’s actions, Mejia was able to avoid apprehension at the scene but was later arrested.
Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail for Hindering the Apprehension or Prosecution of a Known Felon on June 22, 2023, and was released the next day on $7,500 bond.
Mejia was featured on the San Angelo LIVE! June 29, 2023, Booking Report shortly after this incident.

She looks nonplussed, like she's ready to harbor a whole squad of banditos out of Pancho Villa's revolutionary army when the time comes.
