Local Stoner Caught With 7 oz of Weed for 'Personal Use'

SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo woman has been indicted in Tom Green County after getting an apparently good deal on several ounces of marijuana on 4/20.

Cricket Joy Webber, 33, of San Angelo, has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for Possession of between 4 ozs and 5 pounds of Marijuana.

According to court documents, on April 22, 2023, a tan colored vehicle that was registered to Webber was observed and was bearing an expired Texas temporary tag. After activating his lights, the officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at the 600 block of North Jefferson Street and Shiloh Street. Webber was the driver, and her father was sitting in the passenger seat.

The officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside Webber’s vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was performed, and 6.86 ounces of marijuana was discovered. Several clear plastic baggies were found inside her vehicle.

Webber was read her Miranda Rights and said she purchased the marijuana before “4/20”, which, according to the arrest information, is an unofficial urban holiday for smoking and using marijuana. Webber said she bought the pot because it was a “deal” and said she purchased all the marijuana in her vehicle for approximately $200 and it is usually much more expensive than that.

Webber explained that all the marijuana inside her vehicle was for personal use.

Webber was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail on April 22, 2023, and was release the next day on $2,500 bond.

How is this country still persecuting individual for procession of cannabis in 2023… It’s a shame and our founding father are rolling in their graves who happened to be hemp farmers. They knew what they were doing.

Just one glance at your comment and the answer is as evident as can be. First they were founding fathers. That's more than one. Two, the pot didn't die so no procession needed. Three find commas. They come in handy. This is why they still prosecute people, not persecute for marijuana. It makes you stupid, very, very stupid.
