SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo man has been arrested for sexual assault and harassment.
Kevin Scott Mitchell, 36, was arrested for sexual assault and harassment over the Memorial Day weekend.
According to court documents, back in October 2021, Mitchell was arrested for assaulting a family or household member. By contacting the victim, he violated his bond condition of no contact. Mitchell began communicating with the victim, threatening to harm her and even with “burning her mother’s house down”.
The victim claims that Mitchell controls her by driving her to work and taking her vehicle back to her apartment. She said she was in constant fear for her safety if she did not listen to Mitchell.
It was also alleged by the victim that Mitchell sexually assaults her almost every night and that she “just lays there crying until he is done” out of her fear of being assaulted further. On May 21, 2023, the victim told Mitchell she did not want to have but Mitchell disregarded the victim and sexually assaulted her anyway.
On May 26, 2023, the victim contacted a Tom Green County Crisis Intervention Unit coordinator who had the victim complete and intake form and a SANE exam.
Mitchell was arrested on May 25, 2023, and charged with sexual assault and harassment. He was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on the same day and is currently an inmate being held on $60,000 bond.
