SAN ANGELO – 17 individuals were booked into the Tom Green County Detention Center in the last 24 hours on a variety of charges including Desecrating a Grave, Identity Theft, and Theft of a Vehicle.
20-year-old Joseph Matthew Gonzales was arrested by Tom Green County Sheriff's Deputies for Desecrating a Grave, the grave of a 5-year-old girl who was murdered as we reported earlier. He was charged with Vandalizing/Damaging/Treating Offensively a Final Resting Place. Gonzales was booked into jail at 6:22 p.m. and his bond is recommended to be set at $40,000.00. He is being held without bond pending a magistrate hearing Thursday morning before a Justice of the Peace. Joseph Gonzales has an extensive criminal record including Felony Drug Possession, Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon, Public Intoxication and DWI.
43-year-old Gerarrdo Lopez was arrested by San Angelo Police for Fraud, Using/Possessing less than 5 Identifying Information of Another Individual and Resisting Arrest. He was booked into the Tom Green County Jail at 7:09 p.m. and his bond is listed at $30,500.00.
32-year-old Thomas Bencomo was arrested by Sterling County Sheriff's Deputies for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. He was booked into the Tom Green County Jail at 7:41 p.m. and is being held without bond pending a magistrate hearing before a Justice of the Peace.
