Armed Man Arrested in Connection with Northside Shooting

 

SAN ANGELO— The San Angelo Police Department has released more detailed information regarding the shooting that we reported which took place on Tuesday night.

According to San Angelo Police Department Public Information Officer Richard Espinoza, a 59-year-old man is in custody after a shooting investigation yesterday evening on the Northside of San Angelo.

A 32-year-old man was found to be suffering from a single gunshot wound and was transported by the SAFD to Shannon Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, identified as Donald Spradley, was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and was transported to the Tom Green County Jail.

The SAPD was dispatched to the 600 block of North Jackson yesterday evening around 8:28 p.m. in reference to Welfare check. Officers made contact with a 32-year-old male and observed that the male had an apparent gunshot wound to the area near his left shoulder.

Officers learned that the shooting occurred at a residence in the 1000 block of North Monroe and officers responded to that location to secure that scene.

San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division arrived on scene and learned that the suspect was Spradley and that he was possibly still at the residence on North Monroe. Officers were able to make contact with him through a patrol vehicle’s “PA" or public address system.

After a short period of time, Spradley exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident.
