San Angelo Man Sent to Prison for Decades in Child Assault Plea Deal

SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo man has taken a plea deal for continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14 and will be going to prison for decades.

According to court documents, an 11-year-old child made an outcry of sexual abuse by 62-year-old Reymundo Luna. The victim said in a forensic interview that on or about January 5, 2020, through November 29, 2020, while at a residence on the 200 block of North Campus Boulevard, Luna had sexually assaulted the child on more than two occasions during a period that was 30 or more days in duration.

Investigators then spoke with Luna, who said that during those dates, he sexually assaulted the 11-year-old child at a residence on the 200 block of North Campus Boulevard on more than two occasions.

Luna was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on May 14, 2022 and had a $250,00 bond.

In exchange for the guilty plea, Luna was sentenced to 30 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for the continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14.
