Federal Court Keeps 'Remain in Mexico' Immigration Policy for Now

AUSTIN – Attorney General Paxton last night secured a significant victory against the Biden Administration with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas staying the implementation of a rule that would end the Migrant Protection Protocols (“MPP”), otherwise known as the “Remain-in-Mexico” program.

MPP is a Trump-era policy that was created by the Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”) to deal with the increasing threat of illegal aliens by requiring them to remain in Mexico as they work through their immigration status, as opposed to letting them roam freely in communities across the country. However, in 2021, the Biden Administration attempted to terminate the policy, regardless of its beneficial impact in limiting the chaos at our southern border.

Texas sued to stop the Biden Administration from ending MPP in April 2021, and the district court vacated the termination and mandated that DHS implement MPP in good faith. The New Orleans-based U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Supreme Court declined to stay the injunction pending appeal.

The Fifth Circuit later upheld the district court’s ruling. The U.S. Supreme Court then reversed, but remanded the case back to the district court to review another Biden Administration attempt to terminate the program. Now, the district court has blocked the Biden Administration from terminating MPP until the case is resolved on the underlying merits.

“Tens of thousands of illegal aliens are crossing our border every single week, overwhelming our communities and making our state and nation less safe,” said Attorney General Paxton. “Unfortunately, that’s a result of the Biden Administration’s unwavering determination to get as many illegal aliens into this country as possible. A key part of their open-borders agenda has been ending the Remain-in-Mexico program. But the law is not on their side. The court made the right decision here in protecting Remain-in-Mexico, and I look forward to fighting to make sure the program is secured indefinitely.”

Once again ... The democrat plan is very simple, let in as many illegals as possible during the first three plus years of the biden presidency, then grant a blanket amnesty. Next the democrats will try and force out all voter ID laws then they will demand that all the grateful illegals vote for the  democrat in the next presidential election and any other elections in the future. They will sell out this country just to stay in power.

Reagan granted blanket amnesty in the 80's to all "illegals", you say nothing about that.

Trump has a massive surge in 2019, was that what he was planning to do at the time also?

Democrats are already winning elections, why goto all this trouble?

This doesnt even make sense. You know that, you just like to spout off republicans propaganda and lies.

Speaking of propaganda and lies - Why don't you tell the whole truth? Regan granted amnesty with the intent of securing the border which the democrats blocked. Some things never change.
Trump's massive surge in 2019 is the fault of biden during his campaign speeches invited illegals to surge the border. Look it up, there is news footage of illegals in 2019 gathering at the border, trying to force their way in while screaming BIDEN, BIDEN, BIDEN! Democrats are becoming more and more exposed of what they are really about so they won't be winning to many more elections.

Why don't you try some damn truth for a change, it might actually make you feel good.

Seriously how about we require all the legal documents that these illegal alien’s countries require of us before we are allowed to move to their countries. United States citizens can’t just walk across the border to look for jobs or get free medical care and food stamps.

I see in the above photo that someone is waving the Mexican Flag while waiting for illegals to come into the US where they will be given shelter, food, money and a chance at a better life. Does anyone else have a problem with that besides me?

Well, unlike yourself the thought of the Great Replacement doesn't bother me in the least, maybe because I'm not a racist.
