DETAILS: San Angelo Police Confirm Arrest in West San Angelo Shooting

 

SAN ANGELO – San Angelo Police Wednesday confirmed that a man was shot on Oxford. Dr. Tuesday evening and a suspect is now in custody.  

According to San Angelo Police Department Public Information Officer Richard Espinosa, on 9/13/22 around 7:25pm, Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Oxford in reference to a domestic disturbance. While responding to that location, our dispatch division received information that the there was a potential shooting victim at that residence.

Officers arrived on scene, located a 54 year old male who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper and lower torso, and were able to detain John Walton, 47, who was believed to be the suspect.

Officers administered first aid to the victim on scene and SAFD medics transported him to Shannon Medical Center for treatment. The condition of the victim is unknown at this time.

SAPD’s Criminal Investigation and Crime Scene Division arrived on scene to assist with investigating the incident. At the conclusion of the initial investigation, Walton was taken into custody for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

This incident is still under investigation and no further information is available to be released at this time.
