DETAILS: Juveniles Arrested After Monday Night Drive-by Shooting & High Speed Chase

 

SAN ANGELO – San Angelo Police have released more information on Monday night's drive-by shooting & chase that ended near the intersection of S. Bryant and Knickerbocker Rd.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, on Aug. 29 around 8:33 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Beauregard in reference to a possible "Drive-By Shooting" call. While enroute, Officers observed the suspect vehicle, a Silver GMC Pickup traveling North on Bryant toward 29th St.

Officers attempted to conduct a stop on the suspects at which point the driver began to evade the detention in the vehicle. Officers initiated a pursuit on the suspect vehicle and it ultimately ended near the intersection of Knickerbocker and S. Bryant. This is where San Angelo LIVE! reported the incident taking place. Officers were able to quickly detain three occupants in the vehicle and began trying to learn what had taken place in the 400 block of W. Beauregard. 

The investigation is still currently on-going but the information we do have is that a 16-year-old male, the driver of the vehicle, was transported to Juvenile Justice Center in San Angelo for "Evading Arrest/Detention with a Motor Vehicle. Along with him two other 17-year-old males were taken into custody. The first was charged with "Possession of Marijuana <2oz" and was also cited for "Possession of Tobacco by a Minor." The other 17-year-old was cited for "Possession of Tobacco by a Minor."

Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

The chase path included, on its last leg, a path on Knickerbocker from Loop 306 to Bryant at a high rate of speed.  I’d say close to 100 mph. Incredibly fast.  My dash cam was inadvertently off, so it’s disappointing that I don’t have a video recording.
