Former San Angelo Central Freshman Teacher Sentenced for Improper Relationship with a Student

SAN ANGELO, TX – A former San Angelo Central Freshman Campus teacher was sentenced to six years deferred adjudication probation on Wednesday after pleading guilty to having an improper relationship with a student.

According to court documents, on Mar. 10 at 9 a.m., Cole Larsson pleaded guilty to having an improper relationship between an educator and a student, a second degree felony.

Larsson was originally arrested for the charge in Jan. 2021 after officers with the San Angelo Police Department were alerted of a possible sexual assault that occurred at the Central Freshman Campus on Oakes.

The police learned that Larsson had added a student on Instragram. Larsson and the child exchanged direct messages for months before the assault occurred. In the document, the court hides the name of the child but uses a male pseudonym.

During the assault, Larsson was accused of touching the child's genitals while in a classroom. For more on the original arrest see: Police: Teacher's Improper Relationship with Student Started on Instagram

In exchange for the guilty plea, Larsson will spend the next six years on deferred adjudication probation. He will also have to pay a $5,000 fine.
