SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo ISD teacher accused of having an improper relationship with a student allegedly added as a friend and then messaged the minor directly on Instagram before the alleged assault.
According to an affidavit, on Nov. 14, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were informed of a possible sexual assault involving a student and a teacher at Central High School.
Three days later, officers met with a student who told them that the Cole Larsson, 23, was his teacher at the high school and added him on Instagram at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year.
After connecting on the social media app, Larsson allegedly sent the 14-year-old explicit text messages. In the message thread, Police claim that Larsson sent a message suggesting that he sexually assaulted the child by touching him. Police said they were able to access Larsson's Instagram account with a search warrant.
Two months later, on Jan. 27, officers once again met with the student who told them about his relationship with the teacher.
The student claimed that while at school Larsson touched the student's genitals while he was sitting near the teacher's desk, an arrest affidavit described.

Police said Larsson was interviewed following the allegations. He admitted to direct messaging the student on Instagram but that the touching of the child was accidental.
After the interview an arrest warrant was issued for indecency with a child by sexual contact. Larsson was arrested in Midland on Jan. 30.

Larsson's bond was set at $75,000 and once released he can have no contact with the victim.
The San Angelo ISD has confirmed that Larsson was a district employee during this school year but have not confirmed when the last time Larsson was on campus.
