Shawn Adkins Indicted for the Murder of Hailey Dunn

LUBBOCK, TX- Shawn Adkins has been indicted for the murder of Hailey Dunn. 

Now, 11 years after the 13-year-old Hailey Dunn went missing, Billie Jean Dunn’s then boyfriend Shawn Adkins has been indicted for murder and also tampering with physical evidence.

Hailey Dunn disappeared in December 2010. Her body was found 3-years-later in Scurry County near J.B. Thomas Lake.

Adkins is accused of Dunn’s death by striking her in the head with an object and intentionally and knowingly concealing the remains of Dunn with intent to impair its availability as evidence.

In June of 2021, Adkins was arrested in Howard County and charged with murder and is now being held on $1.25 million bond.
