Defendant Pleads Guilty to Possessing Lewd Images of a Child

 

LUBBOCK, TX- A Lubbock man pleaded guilty on Thursday in federal court to possession of lewd images of a child.

According to federal court documents, Clayton McBryde, 42, was identified as a suspect after Lubbock Police received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

A detective with the Lubbock Police Department reviewd files and confirmed one video file in McBryde's possession was child pornography. The video in question was sexual conduct between an adult and a minor prepubescent female.

A search was done on McBryde’s computer where Lubbock police located a photo in a folder titled “claysfolder” that was a lewd image involving a minor female.

McBryde admitted that he possessed the image and admited that the image contained child pornography.

McBryde faces up to 20 years in prison and 5 years to life under supervised release and he will have to register as a sex offender for life. McBryde is currently being held in Lubbock County Detention Center and his sentencing hearing is currently set for September 1st, 2021.
