Fugitive on the Run After High Speed Chase Near Sonora

 

SONORA, TX – The Sutton County Sheriff's Office is searching for a fugitive who fled after a high speed chase on I-10 near Sonora Friday morning. 

According to the SCSO, At approximately 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sonora PD attempted a traffic stop that led to a pursuit west bound on IH-10 from the 400 mile marker.

Sutton County Deputies & DPS Troopers joined the pursuit, which continued to the 388 miler marker where the subject crossed the median and turned east bound before coming to a stop. The subject then fled on foot south bound through the brush, and is still at large.

Please be on the lookout for an African American male wearing a white shirt and pink shorts. He may attempt to catch a ride or be seen in the area. Contact the Sutton County Sheriff's Office with any sightings or information & we will update when or if the subject is apprehended. Thank you for your cooperation and vigilance.
