Missing Texas Girl Rescued from Perv in Florida

ATLANTA, GA – A Georgia man has been arrested after being found in Florida with a missing Texas teen.

Vincent Joseph Robusto, 38, was arrested in Port Charlotte, Florida for false imprisonment of a person against their will, interference in custody of a minor, two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a felon, and drug paraphernalia delivery to a minor.

The Texas girl, 15, told her parents that she was going on an all-inclusive church retreat and after not hearing from her for a few days, they called the police.

Investigators tracked her phone to a vacation rental home in Port Charlotte, Florida.

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s office said, “Once on scene, deputies knocked on the door and observed a man run to the backroom, refusing to open the door or acknowledge the deputies’ presence.”

Investigators were able to contact the owner of the rental home and had Robusto bring the juvenile to the door.

The teenager was questioned and told deputies that she was trying to open the door but Robusto wouldn’t let it happen and he told her to stay quiet. She met Robusto after getting off the plane and walking the street where he greeted her.

They went to an address on Ohara Drive, had dinner, and Robusto gave her a vape pen with an unknown substance in it.

The teen never attended the church she claims she went with and never went to a church camp. A friend told investigators that the teenager had been messaging with an older man.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence and a semi-automatic handgun was found with ammunition in the magazine.

Vincent Joseph Robusto had previous run-ins with the law and was a convicted felon. Robusto had charges of theft, carrying a concealed weapon, aggravated assault and aggravated battery from two counties in Georgia.

Robusto is currently being held on a $325,000.00 bond.
