Update: Accused Cop Killer Transferred to Tom Green County

 

EDEN, TX – The suspect who killed two law enforcement officers in Eden Monday night has been identified.  

Officials say Jeffery Nicholas was arrested for shooting two law enforcement officers in Eden following a short chase and standoff.  

As we reported from the scene Monday night, officers had pulled Nicholas over and attempted to get him to exit the vehicle.  Nicholas instead drove away and made it a short distance to his home. 

There was an exchange of gunfire and the two officers were killed.  Nicholas wasn't injured.  Witnesses say a civilian was also shot in the stomach and was transported to the hospital. 

The deceased officers have not been identified yet.

Update: The suspect has been transferred to the Tom Green County Detention Facility. He has been charged with two counts of Capital Murder of a Peace Officer or Fireman. Nicholas' bond was set at $4 million.

Why in the world would they have taken him alive ? As if this wasn't bad enough, now there will have to be a tax payer trial then feed & house him for years and years to come........
