EDEN, TX – The suspect who killed two law enforcement officers in Eden Monday night has been identified.

Officials say Jeffery Nicholas was arrested for shooting two law enforcement officers in Eden following a short chase and standoff.

As we reported from the scene Monday night, officers had pulled Nicholas over and attempted to get him to exit the vehicle.  Nicholas instead drove away and made it a short distance to his home.

The deceased officers have not been identified yet.

Update: The suspect has been transferred to the Tom Green County Detention Facility. He has been charged with two counts of Capital Murder of a Peace Officer or Fireman. Nicholas' bond was set at $4 million.

Why in the world would they have taken him alive ? As if this wasn't bad enough, now there will have to be a tax payer trial then feed & house him for years and years to come........

Police kill citizens at the rate of thousands a year and they actually give them jobs and pensions! I know that you have no regard for human (or American) lives, but you can't just go around killing people, this guy deserves a fair trial, not to be murdered on his door step like so many other innocent citizens at the hands of cops.

And by the way, if you are found guilty of a felony you have to pay court costs, the only way it is on the tax payers is if someone is found not guilty. So you are wrong about that.

ME SOMETHING, You're right, it's a conspiracy. The police objective is to kill all US citizens and they are in kahoots with the aliens from Alpha Centauri. Your constant stupid anti police comments have caught their attention and I'm pretty sure they already know who you are so they will be coming for you soon.

Come for me for what? If they did something to me for expressing my opinion and utilizing my first amendment right to free speech they would just be proving my point, so go for it, come get me.
