TUCSON, AZ — U.S. Customs and Border Protection Thursday announced the opening of a soft-sided facility in Tucson, AZ. The facility’s primary purpose is to safely and expeditiously process illegal aliens in U.S. Border Patrol custody.
The facility will be weatherproof, climate-controlled, and is expected to provide ample areas for eating, sleeping, and personal hygiene. The new facility’s design is similar to that of recently constructed soft-sided facilities.
The over 80,000 square foot facility sits on six acres at 4550 East Los Reales Road in Tucson. The temporary facility will provide additional processing capacity for Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector.
Since January 2021, CBP has seen a steady increase in border encounters from the Western Hemisphere due in part to worsening economic conditions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters affecting the area.

joe biden caused this tremendous increase in illegal immigration, all by himself. Illegal immigration has been going on for decades but, it was less than it had been in decades when President Trump was in office. joe biden made it clear even before he was sworn in that he would make a pathway to citizenship much easier, hinting at amnesty and because of that, the illegal surge started even before he took office. So yes MESOMETHING, technically it did start under the last few days of the Trump Presidency. President biden stopped construction on the wall, stating that not one more foot would be built on his watch. He also stopped the wait on Mexico's side of the border until permission is given to enter, which was an agreement between Mexico and the US. Even before biden took office, hordes of illegals were trying to force their way through border gates while chanting BIDEN, BIDEN, BIDEN.
