Austin Man Arrested for Simulating Shooting at Police

AUSTIN,TX – Zion Baptiste was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after pretending to shoot police officers with a handgun in Austin.

Law enforcement says two officers were flagged down for an unrelated incident when Baptiste drove up and pulled out a semi-automatic handgun, pointing it at the officers and moving his arms up and down to simulate shooting the police.

Even though the police officers were facing the other way at the time, witnesses told them what had occurred. In fact, Baptiste’s actions were recorded and the video has been released by the Austin Police Department.

Baptiste was arrested Wednesday by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
