SAN ANGELO, TX – The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office has confirmed a serious incident at the new jail left three correctional officers injured on Thursday evening.
According to the TGCSO, at approximately 6:00 p.m. a disturbance occurred in a "multiple occupancy unit."
No specific details have been released at this time, but the agency confirmed a Special Operational Response Team was required to restore the order.
Three correctional officers were then transported to Shannon Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Three inmates were subsequently charged with Assault on a Public Servant, which is a 3rd-degree felony.
Sean Hunter Wisdom, 18, was in jail facing charges of aggravated robbery, evading detention with a vehicle, and possession/delivery of drug paraphernalia.
Arturo Garcia, 18, has been charged with murder, possession of marijuana, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
Jacob Lewis Garcia, 25, was in custody for a plethora of charges including unauthorized use of a vehicle, evading arrest, evading detention with a vehicle, and several grand jury indictments.
TGCSO confirmed no reportable injuries occurred among the inmate population during the incident.
The cell block where the disturbance occurred remains in lockdown status while the investigation into the incident continues.
Additional charges are expected to be filed.
