High Speed Chase Through Several Counties Ends in Standoff

SAN ANGELO,TX – A Tom Green County man was arrested after a standoff with law enforcement officers after he allegedly shot at his family.

Just outside the San Angelo city limits, Ray Allen Dove shot at his wife and son then drove off forcing several law enforcement agencies on a chase.

According to law enforcement reports, Dove’s wife and son were not injured.

Dove ran through Coke County heading towards the small town of Silver, then towards Colorado City. A Mitchell County Sheriff deputy and DPS set out a spike strip to stop the chase but Dove went around them.

Dove made it to I-20 at Colorado City and continued east towards Sweetwater. He drove through Loraine and stopped when he made it back to the interstate.

Law enforcement were told he might still have a gun on him and a standoff ensued.

About 5:00 p.m., an armored vehicle from Odessa arrived and Dove was eventually arrested.

Ray Allen Dove was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
