SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department has released the Weekly Crime Bulletin Tuesday.
According to SAPD, there were 10 burglaries of motor vehicles in the last week. At least 9 of the 10 vehicles were unlocked or unsecured during the break-ins.
The following items were reported stolen during the car burglaries: cash, electronics, guns, identifying info, part, and tools.
Additionally, four vehicles were stolen during the same time period. According to law enforcement, one of the vehicles had the keys inside the building and the other three showed no signs of forced entry.
While vehicles seemed to be a popular target for local criminals, the burglary of commercial and residential burglaries was also prevalent.
According to the police department, at least 10 burglaries occurred last week.
The reported stolen items included: building material, electronics, furniture, guns, tools, and miscellaneous property.
Firearms also seemed to be a popular item among San Angelo thieves. SAPD reports seven firearms were stolen last week. Three of the guns were stolen from unlocked vehicles.
"Practicing safe gun storage protects our kids, prevents accidents, and keeps our guns out of the hands of criminals," said SAPD.
