Tow Truck Driver Charged with Assault After Altercation

 

TYE, TX -- A tow truck driver has been arrested after he shot the driver of an 18-wheeler.

According to the Tye Police Department, 31-year-old James Eggleston arrived at the  Flying J truck stop around 10:00 p.m. He stated he was there to recover an 18-wheeler.

Eggleston and the driver then began to argue, and the suspect then allegedly fired one warning shot. He then shot the unidentified driver in the leg.

The driver was transported to Hendrick Medical Center and is in stable condition.

Eggleston told local media he fired in self-defense because the driver assaulted him.

Eggleston was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.
