San Angelo Predator Assaults Teen He Met On Social Media

SAN ANGELO, TX – A 34-year-old San Angelo man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly sexually assaulted a child he met on social media.

According to court documents, on Jan. 6, officers with the San Angelo Police Department arrested Michael Curry, 34, for aggravated sexual assault of a child and sexual assault of a child.

The arrest came after a 14-year-old girl made an outcry of sexual assault.  San Angelo Police Officers began their investigation on Nov. 25. During their investigation they gained evidence showing that Curry had sexually assaulted the teen.

One piece of evidence was from the social media app, Discord. Police have screenshots of Curry asking the child "8==D later tonight?"

Then on Jan. 4 the police got on a controlled call between Curry and another person. During their conversation, Curry went into explicit details of how he sexually assaulted the girl.

He was then booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Jan 6. He remains in jail on a $175,000 bond.
