Remains of Missing Oil Field Worker Found

WESTBROOK, TX -- After disappearing nearly four months ago, the remains of 37-year-old Rick Hamilton were found on an oil lease between Westbrook and the Mitchell County line.

The discovery was made on Sunday after an oil field worker found the remains. A private investigator was able to determine Hamilton was last seen in Colorado City after stepping off a bus.

According to Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs, investigators believe Hamilton died on August 1st, a day after his family last heard from him.

According to investigators, there are no signs of foul play, and his remains were sent to South Plains Forensic Pathology in Lubbock to confirm his identity.

The toxicology labs will take from 6-to-8 weeks to be completed.
