Armed Man Killed in Officer Involved Shooting

 

LUBBOCK, TX – A Lubbock Man was shot by police officers Sunday night after he met the officers at the door of his apartment with a gun. 

According to the Lubbock Police Department, on Nov. 15 at around 6:15 p.m., officers with the LPD were dispatched to an apartment complex near 50th and Bangor for the report of criminal mischief.

When the officers arrived they went to the apartment and knocked on the door. The suspect met the officers at the door with a gun. 

One of the officers fired at the armed man.

The unidentified victim was then taken to UMC where he later died from his injuries. 

 The name of the deceased has not been released at this time.

A majority of officer involved shootings are investigated by the Texas Rangers. It is unknown if they will be taking this case as of Nov. 16.
