FBI Investigating Border Patrol Agent Involved Shooting

 

LAREDO, TX – On November 10, 2020, at approximately noon, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Border Patrol agent was involved in a use of force incident in a remote area in northern Webb County. An agent assigned to the Laredo North Station was working his assigned duties when he encountered a suspected illegal alien. While attempting to make an arrest, a confrontation ensued, ultimately leading to the agent discharging his service weapon. The subject was struck and medical aid was administered. The subject was transported to a local hospital for additional treatment. The incident is under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Texas Department of Public Safety. The DHS Office of Inspector General responded to the scene and is conducting an assessment. CBP’s Office of Professional Responsibility will also review this incident.
