Border Patrol: Illegal Alien Dies in Custody

LAREDO, TX – U.S. Customs and Border Protection is saddened to report the death of a 36-year-old Mexican national male on Saturday afternoon in a Laredo, Texas area hospital. We extend our condolences to his family.

On October 15, 2020, U.S. Border Patrol agents encountered a group of four illegal aliens south of Laredo. One of the four individuals in the group was found to be unresponsive. Agents on scene quickly called emergency medical services (EMS) and began to render aid. Soon thereafter, local EMS personnel arrived and transported the individual to the Laredo Medical Center (LMC) for medical attention.

While at LMC, U.S. Customs and Border Protection personnel contacted the family in Mexico, with the assistance of the Mexican Consulate in Laredo. Unfortunately, the individual’s health condition worsened and he died in the hospital on October 17, 2020.
