SAN ANGELO, TX – On Saturday August 29, 2020, 26-year-old Pablo Albert Lemus Jr. was arrested by an out of county agency for two warrants including the Aggravated Sexual assault of a Child, as well as the Sexual Performance by a Child under 14 years of age at approximately 12:38 a.m.
According to multiple court documents, on August 2, 2020, witnesses spoke with an officer with the San Angelo Police Department who had been investigating the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.
Indictment reports indicate that witnesses contacted the SAPD after the juvenile victim made an outcry to one of them claiming that the defendant, later identified as Lemus had sexually assaulted the child three times at a residence in San Angelo.
Prior to the report of the alleged assault, the victim told one of the witnesses that Lemus kept "turning on a flashlight" during the assault.
The witness immediately suspected Lemus of using the flashlight from his cellphone to photograph and record the assault, who then informed a second witness to what the victim told her previously, claiming Lemus kept turning on a flashlight during the offense.
The second witness stated that she observed multiple photos and videos on Lemus' cellphone which showed the defendant actively assaulting the minor.
In a follow up interview the second witness told investigators that she was able to identify Lemus by observing known scarring located on his sexual organ from the photos and videos recovered from his cellphone.
When the witnesses confronted Lemus with the photos and videos found on his cellphone he eventually admitted to assaulting the child and the authorities were contacted immediately.
At this time Lemus is in the Tom Green County Jail where he is currently being held on $150,000.00 in bond.
