Border Patrol Arrests Another Dangerous Criminal Illegal Alien

 

VAN HORN, TX – Border Patrol agents arrested an individual previously removed from the United States and convicted of sexual assault of a child.

 

“Dangerous criminals continue to seek entry into our country and our communities,” said Big Bend Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Chris T. Clem.  “Our agents remain vigilant in the protection of those near and far away from the border areas.”

 

On August 15, 2020, Border Patrol agents assigned to the Van Horn Border Patrol Station responded to a concerned citizen call of suspicious activity.  Upon arrival, agents encountered five individuals, all citizens of Mexico and all illegally present in the United States.

 

During processing it was discovered that one individual had been previously removed from the United States in 2002.  The same individual had been convicted of sexual assault of a child.  Prosecution is pending.

 

Big Bend Sector Border Patrol agents, patrol 517 miles of the southwest border, an area that extends from Sierra Blanca, Texas to Sanderson, Texas. The Van Horn Station area of responsibility consists of 31.1 miles of border with Mexico, and approximately 4,965 square miles of terrain.
