Suspects Attacks Mother and Child at Gas Station

MIDLAND, TX — A Cedar Park man is facing assault charges after he attacked a woman and her child at a gas station.

According to CBS7, 41-year-old Jerry L. Gardner approached the mother and child and assaulted them at a gas pump. Gardner then stole their vehicle and left the store. A by-stander who attempted to stop the assault was also injured by the suspect.

Gardner was later located by Kerr County deputies after a pursuit.

Gardner has been charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and injury to a child.
