ABILENE, TX — An Abilene convicted sex offender is once again facing the law after he failed to comply with his sex offender registry.
According to KTXS, Vinson Carl Higginbotham, Jr. was arrested on Monday after a search of his phone resulted in at least one nude image of a child under 14.
Higginbotham was arrested after police searched his home and charged with the sexual performance of a child and possession of child pornography.
Back in 2011, Higginbotham pled guilty to possession of child pornography and indecency with a child; the victim was a 10-year-old girl. He was sentenced to seven years in prison and had to register as a sex offender.
Higginbotham's current bond has been set at $70,000.
