Woman Charged With Capital Murder In Death of 5-Year-Old Girl

ORANGE, TX — A Texas woman has been charged with capital murder in connection to the death of 5-year-old Daviana Landry.

According to KTXS, on Friday morning officers responded to a call for a deceased child in Orange.

By the following Monday, preliminary autopsy results indicated the manner of death was “Homicide by blunt force trauma.” That same day an arrest warrant was issued for 32-year-old Brenika Lott.

Details regarding the death of Daviana have not been released, but Lott was charged with Capital Murder because under Texas law the death of a child under 10 is a capital case.

Lott was arrested by police and is currently jailed in Orange County.
