Missing 3-Month-old Found Dead in the Red River

 

GAINESVILLE, TX — The Gainesville Police Department has confirmed that 3-month-old Lyrik Brown's body was found in a river.

According to KBTX, around 4:00 p.m. baby Lyrik and her father Jeremy Brown were located at the Red River and I-35. According to police, Brown was in the river next to an overturned vehicle submerged in water.

When the car was removed from the water Lyrik was found inside in a car seat. Brown was removed from the river and was accessed by medical professionals for injuries and later taken into custody.

On Monday might Lyrik’s mother told police she had been riding in a grey 2011 Volkswagen Jetta with her daughter and boyfriend, Jeremy Brown.

According to the mother, she and Brown for into an argument that then turned physical. She was able to exit the vehicle and the altercation continued outside the car and the alleged assault continued. Brown then got into the car and left with Lyrik.

It is unclear at this time how the incident that led to the death of Lyrik occurred.
