MIDLAND, TX — A Midland man was sentenced to 80 years in federal prison after facing charges for producing and distributing child pornography.
According to MRT.com, two defendants were associated with the crime, 32-year-old Christopher Ernest Martinez and 23-year-old Kelsey Renee Hubbard.
In September of 2019, Midland PD was contacted by a local business concerning a computer they had purchased from Hubbard. The computer contained multiple images of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
Hubbard returned to the business the next day attempting to sell jewelry. The business contacted the police and Hubbard was arrested.
She then told investigators she had tried to clear the computer’s memory before selling it. She then permitted officers to search her phone.
The search revealed messages between Hubbard and Martinez. In the text exchange, the couple shared approximately 60 images of child pornography. Most of the images had been produced by Hubbard at the request of Martinez.
Martinez pled guilty to two counts of production of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography on December 10, 2019. He will also be placed on supervised release for ten years after completing his prison term.
Hubbard pled guilty to one count of aiding and abetting the production of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography on March 4. She was sentenced to 40 years in federal prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release.
