San Angelo Murder Followed Long List of Domestic Violence

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo's newest murder case began Friday after a woman shot her husband in the face with a handgun. New information reveals this has been a long on-going feud between the two that ended in the loss of the man's life.

According to the affidavit, on June 5, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 block of Daniel Street for the report of a shots fired call. As officers arrived to the scene they found Lisa Clemons, 38, standing over Antonio Fletcher, 53, who had an apparent gunshot wound to the left cheek.

Fletcher was immediately transported to Shannon due his incapacitating injury. Clemons was taken into custody and was booked into the Tom Green County Jail for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Police continued to investigate and spoke with Clemons' daughter. The daughter told them that Clemons had been "shooting the residence up for the last several days." There were also claims that Clemons threatened on multiple occasions to kill Fletcher, her daughter, as well as herself.

This wasn't the first time the SAPD had been to their house over family violence.

As previously reported back in Sept. of 2019, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 block of Daniel St for a domestic disturbance where Clemons had struck Fletcher with a pistol in the head. This caused a massive gash on Fletcher's head. Read about it here: Husband Hospitalized After Wife Hits Him with a Pistol

In March of 2020, Fletcher was arrested for assault to a family member by impeding their breath. The person he is accused of choking was Clemons. He was indicted for the charge on May 19.

The affidavit states that Clemons admitted to buying a handgun in April 2020. She also admitted to the officers that she shot the victim. In the recorded 911 call, officers claim to hear the Clemons tell the dispatch team "there was an incident" and that she shot her husband.

The following day detectives went to Shannon and spoke with Fletcher's nurse who told that he had no signs of brain activity and that the victim was on a ventilator. They were informed later that day that Antonio Fletcher died as a result of a gunshot wound.

Clemons' charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon was upgraded to Murder. She remains in the Tom Green County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

It all started with a disagreement over the petition for changing the name of Lee Middle School. She told him to sign or die and he was out of hearing aid batteries.

They will do it themselves...with tragic results. Why was this creep not in jail instead of terrorizing his family?

wDougL, Tue, 06/09/2020 - 17:45

... was the person terrorizing the family. Not Fletcher(the husband) ... and it reports that "She" previously had pistol whipped her husband. It also says he choked her and he was charged for that incident. All of the facts in the situation are not known but it reads to me that "She" was the "Creep"! She obviously had some anger issues. My question is ... "Why is the Man automatically the person that was the abuser?" There's always to sides to an domestic dispute and there are documented cases where the woman was the abuser. Also, why are people not angry about this murder? " Black husbands Lives Matter " also don't they?? Or... is it because the two individuals involved... "Were Black"... that makes it different?? Where are the Protesters of this murder of a Black man? Or... is it the fact that the murder was a black woman that murdered a black man? Does that make it ..."Okay"?? I don't know... but seems like a "Double Standard " ... it's "Okay" with everyone that Mr. Fletcher died over a disagreement with his wife and that she murdered him.

In both situations... a Black soul was murdered and neither man did anything that warranted to be murdered! " Black lives DO matter"!
And so does every living soul DOES matter!
