One Injured in Whataburger Drive-Thru Shooting

 

ABILENE, TX — The Abilene Police Department is investigating a shooting at a Whataburger drive-thru on Sunday night.

According to KTXS, around 10:00 p.m. two different vehicles got into an argument in the drive-thru of the fast-food restaurant. Passengers abroad a black Toyota Tundra and a white Chevy Suburban were arguing, and gunfire was exchanged.

At least one person was injured, and the victim was driven to a southside hospital in the Suburban. The victim was then transferred to Hendrick Medical Center, but the injuries are believed to no be life-threatening. 

Police do not know how many shots were fired, but local reporters counted at least six evidence markers next to the Tundra.

The cause of the argument is currently unknown, and police have not yet filed any charges in the case. Several people were taken to police headquarters for questioning.
