Three Suspects Arrested in the Suspicious Death of a Teen

 

COLORADO CITY, TX —The Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed three people have been arrested in the death of 16-year-old Haley Martinez.

According to KTXS, Martinez was found dead on May 26 in Colorado City at 1211 College St from what appeared to be a possible drug overdose.

During the last few days, the sheriff’s office and the Colorado City Police Department interviewed persons of interest and served three search warrants.

The last search warrant was served on Sunday at the home were Martinez was found dead, resulting in the arrest of three individuals.

Kenneth Ray Green and Amanda Harkins were arrested for tampering with evidence; a human corpse, while Nick Rodriguez was arrested for assaulting Martinez on May 23.

The cause of death has not been determined at this time, but an autopsy and a sexual exam have been ordered.

According to her obituary, Martinez was born in Sweetwater and she was a “bright-eyed girl with a big smile and an even bigger personality, always making sure to be friendly.”

Her funeral service was held on Tuesday.
