San Angelo Man Pleads Guilty to Continuous Lewd Acts with Minors

SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man was sentenced to prison Wednesday after agreeing to a plea deal from the district attorney's office.

As first reported by San Angelo LIVE! in the July term of 2019, a Tom Green County grand jury indicted Michael Sanchez, 33, for continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14.

The accusation was that Sanchez had continuously touched the genitals of a child under the age of 14. He also made the same girl and another child under the age of 14 touch his genitals. These acts allegedly happened more than twice in between January 2010 and April 2018.

After months of court hearings the district attorney's office offered Sanchez a plea agreement to get out of a costly jury trial.

The deal given to Sanchez was to plead guilty to the a lesser charge of indecency with a child by sexual contact. This made the charge go from a first to a second degree felony.

Sanchez was sentenced to three years in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison.
