Accused Murderer and His Victim Were Frequent Flyers at the Tom Green County Jail

SAN ANGELO, TX – An accused killer is on the loose Monday and the entire San Angelo Police force is searching for him. In light of the tragic death by stabbing, a glimpse at court documents shows both parties in the altercation early Sunday morning at the Stripes where Bryant Blvd. splits, at 1322 S. Bryant Blvd., had long criminal histories here. Some would say they were frequent flyers to the Tom Green County Jail.

As first reported by San Angelo LIVE! early Sunday morning, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the Stripes on S. Bryant Blvd. and W. Ave. J for the report of a stabbing. Here is the story: Police: Man Stabbed to Death at Stripes

During the initial report, police were vague as they were still investigating the first murder of the decade in San Angelo. But police did confirm that Rhyheme Pac Shacore Talton, 26, was stabbed to death during a fight at the convenience store.

Then Monday, January 27, Tracy Piatt-Fox and the San Angelo Police Department hosted a press conference and identified the accused killer as 47-year-old Roberto Arambula, Jr.

Although many details about the murder itself have not been made public, one thing is clear: Both men have been on the opposite side of the law for years.

According to court documents for Arambula, it all started here back in 1989 when he was arrested in Tom Green County for the first time. He was booked at the time for burglary of a building as well as escaping from a Texas Youth Commission facility in Austin. The next four years he spent his time being arrested for various things including felony theft, burglary of a building, and possession of marijuana. After January of 1992 Arambula was not arrested or in Tom Green County again until 2018. Here is how he got back in the headlines: Burglar Leaves Empty Handed and More on Weekend Booking Report

This is when he was accused of stealing a Playstation 4 from Game Stop. He was tried and convicted of theft of a property with two or more previous convictions. He was sentenced to 365 days in the Tom Green County Jail.

Near this same time period, the man for whom Arambula is wanted for murdering, Talton, was being booked into the Tom Green County Jail for his first felony offense in San Angelo. The charge was manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. Prosecutors accused Talton dealing cocaine. The case was later dismissed. Talton was also accused of family violence but that case didn't stick, either.

Then in Dec. of 2018, Talton was accused of a number of crimes including money laundering, possession of a controlled substance, and wanted for 12 other warrants. He was captured by the Odessa Police Department. Here is the story: Sheriff Gets Wanted Man in Odessa

Talton's last big run-in with the Police was in October. Although he was sentenced to serve four years in the state prison by a Tom Green County court in March 2019, six months later he was out. In early October, Talton was accused of shooting up MLK Park on the north side of San Angelo. When he was arrested, he was intoxicated and police found a bag of Xanax in his sock. It is unknown how the early Sunday morning feud at the Stripes started, but police believe Arambula stabbed Talton to death. The tragic incident is the first murder of 2020 in San Angelo.

Police are still searching for Arambula and if you have any information on his whereabouts contact the San Angelo Police Department immediately at (325) 657-4315. Arambula is 47 years old, 5’ 7” and approximately 160 pounds. He is described as having black hair or shaved hair. Arambula has ties in and around the San Angelo area as well as Dallas.
