WATCH: Shots Ring Out in Exclusive Video of Suicide by Cop Scene

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo Police officers Wednesday afternoon had to deal with an individual who allegedly wanted to provoke a suicide by cop shooting.

Scanner reports indicated the subject was armed with a knife which he later taped to his wrist and was threatening to harm himself.

Watch video from the scene:

According to scanner traffic, the man was in a house in the 300 block of west 11th St. near Chadbourne.  Police officers surrounded the house on all sides.

Officers could be heard telling contractors to stop working and go inside at a nearby location.

When officers first arrived they called for a K-9 unit and a 'bean bag' which could be a non-lethal bean bag round for a shotgun.

Shots were heard in the LIVE! exclusive video above.

Reporters say a mental health deputy was also called to the scene.

Officers could be seen negotiating with the suspect.

This is ongoing story and we will update it when new information becomes available.

Police briefed the media on the incident just after 6 p.m. today. Here's more of what happened.
