SAPD Confirms Badly Beaten Man was Also Shot

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department has officially confirmed that the man who was reported badly beaten yesterday was also shot. 

As previously reported on January 5, officers with the San Angelo Police Department responded to a shots fired call at the intersection of Grape Creek Rd. and 25th st. Here is the original story: Police Find Man Badly Beaten in the Head

Although initial reports say otherwise, SAPD has now confirmed that the man suffered apparent gunshot wounds. 

According to the SAPD, Around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2020, San Angelo Police were dispatched to the 3500 block of Grape Creek Road for the report of a shooting victim. 

Upon arrival, officers located a 33-year-old man lying in a driveway suffering from gunshot wounds and other injuries sustained in an apparent assault. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance. His injuries were said to be non-life threatening.  

The victim was initially located by a construction crew that was working nearby after they heard someone calling out for help. One of the workers rendered first aid until first responders arrived.
