Christoval Man Indicted for Touching Small Child

SAN ANGELO, TX – A Tom Green County Grand Jury indicted a Christoval Man in November for multiple child sex charges. 

As previously reported, on Oct. 1, Justice of the Peace Fred Buck signed an arrest warrant for Cody Sears, 41, for allegedly touching a small girl. Here is the original story: TGSO Arrests Christoval Man for Allegedly Touching Nine Year Old Girl.

The affidavit states that the day before Sears was arrested, a girl around the age of nine made on outcry saying that she was sexually abused by Sears. 

The child alleged that on multiple occasions Sears would let her sleep in the same bed as him and that while she was asleep he would put his hand under her pajamas. 

The child claims that she told another adult about what was going on and was simply told not to sleep in the same bed with him.

When Sears was asked about the accusations he told deputies that "he could not recall if the incidents occurred." He did say that he was confronted by the adult but denies any wrong doing. He also stated that he slept in the same bed as the child over fifty times in the past year.

Sears is charged with three counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact. He was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Oct. 1. He was released the following day in lieu of a $50,000 bond. 

Sears Initial Pre-Trial begins on January 7 at 2:00 p.m.
