SAN ANGELO, TX -- A 32-year-old suspect has been indicted by a Tom Green County Grand Jury after Deputies say he possessed with intent to sell cocaine and ecstasy.
As previously reported, on Sept. 17 Tom Green County Sheriff's deputies arrested Justin Bass for drug possession. Here is the original story: TGCSO Busts 32-Year-Old for Cocaine, Ecstasy, and Weed
The arrest occurred after a deputy with the TGCSO spotted a car traveling 76 mph on West Carlsbad Loop. The area is posted as a 60 mph zone.
Once the deputy pulled the driver over, he identified the driver as Bass and told him why he was being stopped. During the interaction Bass is accused of trying to distract the deputy with "conversation about his car and recent life occurrences."
The deputy went back to his cruiser, ran Bass' criminal history, and discovered previous charges including possession of marijuana and controlled substances.
He returned to the vehicle and gave Bass a warning for speeding but asked if he could still search the car.
Bass consented to the search and deputies found two baggies containing 23.3 grams of cocaine, three baggies containing 66 grams of MDMA or ecstasy, two baggies containing 56.7 grams of marijuana, and two digital scales.
After the discovery of the drugs, Bass invoked his right to remain silent.
Bass was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Sept. 17 and was released three days later. His bond was set at $101,000.
He has a Post-Indictment Reporting Hearing scheduled for January 8 at 8:30 a.m.
