Deputies Seize 112 Pounds of Pot After High Speed Chase

FISHER CO, TX -- Two people were arrested yesterday after leading deputies on a high speed chase through three counties with 112 lbs. of marijuana.

According to KTXS, on June 21 the Chief Deputy of the Fisher County Sheriff's Office attempted to pull over a vehicle on FM 57 after he noticed that they were going over the speed limit.

The driver did not stop for the deputy and a chase ensued. FCSO says that the vehicle was going over 90 mph and went through Fisher, Jones, and Stonewall county.

The chase finally ended after the vehicle's tire popped.

The two were then detained and the vehicle was searched. Inside were two bundles of marijuana weighing in at 56 pounds a piece.

The passengers were then identified as Paula Mendoza, 27 and 25-year-old Jesus Sebastian. They were charged with delivery of marijuana over 50 lbs. and evading arrest. They are currently in the Fisher County Jail with a bond set at $150,000.
