UPDATE: Sports Bar Shooting Possibly Gang Related

ABILENE, TX -- Abilene Police Chief Stan Standridge met with members of the media to release more information on the MC bar shooting on Monday.

Eusabio Jose Perez, 20, shot and killed Adrian Jasso, 27, after a bar fight escalated.

Standridge told the media that the two people involved in the shooting were gang members, and it is possibly gang related. The two were also both just recently released from prison on non-violent charges.

Standridge also expressed that he was doing everything he can to work with TABC and get them to shut down the bar. "Looking at the history of this bar, I am concerned as it's related to the repeated influence of gang membership as its related to patrons visiting this facility," Chief Standridge said.

He is also concerned with the fact that Perez was 20 years-old and had to be treated for alcohol poisoning after he was taken to the hospital. Standridge also told the media that the bartender was involved with the fight.

The bar is closed for at least the next seven days.
