US Border Patrol Finds $7 Million Dollars Worth of Drugs

 

PHARR, TX-- The US Border Patrol seized $7 million worth of meth, cocaine, and heroin.

Officers with drug smelling K-9's were alerted to a commercial shipment of stone blocks on Monday. When they searched inside the the blocks they discovered 35 packages believed to be methamphetamine weighing 320 pounds, seven packages believed to be cocaine weighing almost 40 pounds and two packages believed to be heroin weighing around seven pounds.

The total street value is estimated at $6,998,000, and both the narcotics and the tractor trailor were taken by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the case is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations agents.

“Once again, our officers’ astute awareness and outstanding ability to work in tandem utilizing all available tools and resources resulted in the discovery of these hard narcotics that won’t make their way into our communities,” Port Director David Gonzalez of the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry said in a statement.
