Police Capture Second Suspect in String of Convenience Store Robberies

ABILENE, TX -- (Press Release)  Abilene Police Officers arrested 19-year-old Joe David Rivera this morning, November 1, 2018, at a north Abilene residence.

SWAT served a warrant at the home where Rivera was staying. Rivera also had an arrest warrant from the Dallas, Ft. Worth area.

Rick Tomlin reports that Rivera is wanted in connection to a string of robberies which began on October 20, and were committed over the next six days.

A tip originally helped identify Rivera as the possible second robbery suspect. A subsequent investigation led to his identity and location and finally his arrest.

On October 26, Kariem Quickel (17 years of age) was also arrested and charged in connection to the robberies. He remains in the Taylor County Jail.
