Abilene Police Looking For Suspects in String of Convenience Store Robberies Overnight

ABILENE, TX-- Abilene Police are investigating a string of robberies that occurred at area convenience stores late Thursday night.

KTXS reports that four stores were robbed overnight -- Stripes on Hwy 277, 7-Eleven at Danville and Southwest Drive, Allsup's at 241 S. 1st Street and the 7-Eleven at 3401 Ambler Blvd. -- and police are still searching for suspects.

KTXS was told by a witness that a black male wearing a mask entered the Stripes around 11 p.m. The other three robberies happened within an hour of the first.

A perimeter was set up around Wisteria Way and Southwest Drive and police were searching for suspects in houses in that area, according to the report.

There's no word yet if these robberies are connected to the ones over the weekend and earlier this week.
