Anti-Crime Squad Catches Thieves in the ActPress Release
SAN ANGELO, TX – Members of the San Angelo Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit and Patrol Division, who were conducting a targeted patrol in a high crime area, noticed two subjects enter the Riverfalls housing area near S. Bryant Blvd. before 5 a.m. Thursday morning.
A short time later the subjects were observed exiting the same area arms loaded with property. Officers arrested the two men, identified as Clayton C. Stroh, 23, and John H. West, 20. Tools were stolen from a vehicle in the 4300 block of Riverfalls Court. Stroh was armed with a handgun and West was in possession of dangerous drugs.
After the field investigation, Stroh was charged with state jail felony theft and unlawfully carrying a weapon. West was charged with state jail felony theft and possession of dangerous drugs. The pair was booked into the Tom Green County Jail where they have a $8,000 and $8,500 bond.
The stolen property, valued at around $14,500, was returned to the owner. It was later determined that the firearm Stroh was carrying was reported stolen on Wednesday from a vehicle in the 1200 block of Van Buren Street.
